Privacy policy

Last updated: April 29, 2026

The short version:AINews collects almost nothing. We don't sell data, run ad networks, or track you across the web. The only personal data we touch is your email address — and only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter.

What we collect

The only personal data AINews collects is your email address, and only if you sign up for the newsletter. Nothing else — no name, no IP logging beyond what server providers do automatically, no behavioral tracking.

How we use it

Your email is used for one thing: sending you the daily AINews digest you signed up for. We don't use it for marketing other products, share it with third parties, or include it in any kind of analytics database.

Local storage

AINews uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) for a few small, non-tracking purposes:

  • Newsletter popup state — so the popup doesn't bug you again after you've dismissed it or signed up

None of this leaves your browser. None of it identifies you. You can clear it any time via your browser's site settings.

Third-party services we use

To run the site, we use a small set of services. None of them receive personal data about you unless explicitly noted.

  • Resend — email delivery for the newsletter (gets your email address only when you subscribe)
  • Railway — hosting
  • OpenAI — used server-side to summarize and categorize news articles. No user data sent.
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-first pageview analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal data collected. We see anonymous pageviews and referrers only.

Cookies

AINews does not set any cookies of its own. The site does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tool that sets cookies. This is intentional.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you (email + subscription status)
  • Delete it at any time
  • Withdraw consent by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Sweden: IMY)

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ainews.tech.

Data retention

Newsletter subscriber data (email + signup date) is kept until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, the record is marked inactive but kept for ~30 days for audit purposes, then permanently deleted.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes meaningfully, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes affecting subscribers, we'll send a notification email.
