Help me brainstorm {{topic}}. I keep collapsing to the obvious answer too fast. Stay in divergent mode.
The challenge:
{{what you're trying to come up with}}
What I've already thought of (the obvious):
{{paste the answers you already have so we don't loop on them}}
Generate 20 options across these angles (don't tell me which is best — that's collapsing):
- 5 ideas that subvert a common assumption about this problem
- 5 that solve a different version of the problem (broader or narrower)
- 5 that come from analogous domains (how does someone outside your field handle this?)
- 5 that are absurd / extreme — push them on purpose, sometimes the unusable idea reframes the usable one
Don't curate. Don't rank. Don't tell me which to do.
After the list, pick the 3 most generative — not "best," just the ones that open up the most thinking — and ask me a question about each that I'd have to answer to figure out if it'd work.brainstormingideationdivergent thinking
