Difficult feedback prep (1:1 or written)

You need to give someone feedback they probably won't want to hear, without softening it into uselessness.

Works best in: Claude

Help me prep difficult feedback. I want it clear and kind, not vague and apologetic.

Situation:
- Who: {{role + your relationship — direct report, peer, manager}}
- What's the issue: {{specific behavior or outcome — not personality}}
- Pattern or one-off: {{ongoing? first time?}}
- What I want from this: {{behavior change / awareness / accountability}}

Walk me through:
1. **The actual feedback in one sentence** — sharpened, no euphemisms
2. **Specific examples** I should reference (you'll have to fill in details, but tell me how to structure them — situation/behavior/impact)
3. **What I should NOT say** — softening language that undermines the message
4. **How to invite their perspective** — without making it a debate
5. **The clear ask** — what changes after this conversation
6. **If they push back or get defensive** — how do I stay on the message without escalating?

Be honest if my framing is off. Sometimes the issue is mine.
