Claude Skill
Follow-up Cadence Builder
Generates 3-touch follow-up sequences after a prospect goes silent. Each touch adds value, none are "checking in".
What it does
When a prospect has gone dark, this skill produces a 3-email sequence with appropriate spacing. Each touch brings something new (insight, case study, breakup), not guilt. Tightens your follow-up game without becoming spammy.
When to use
- ✓A prospect who showed interest has gone silent for 5+ days
- ✓You're building cadences for a new playbook
When not to use
- ✗They've never replied at all — that's top-of-funnel, use cold outreach instead
- ✗They explicitly said no — respect that

# Follow-up Cadence Builder
When a prospect has gone dark after expressing interest, generate a 3-email follow-up sequence.
## Required input
- **Last contact** — when, what was discussed
- **What they expressed interest in** — specifically
- **User's read on why they went silent** — busy / lost priority / shopping competitor / blocker
## Output structure
### Touch 1: Value-add re-engagement (3 days after silence)
- Maximum 70 words
- References the specific thing they were interested in
- Adds something they didn't have last time — insight, case study link, new feature, etc.
- No guilt-trip language
- Soft ask (e.g., "still relevant?")
### Touch 2: Different angle (7 days after Touch 1)
- Maximum 70 words
- Different framing than Touch 1 — if T1 was problem-led, T2 is opportunity-led
- One concrete reason it's worth their reply
- Clearer ask than T1
### Touch 3: The breakup (10 days after Touch 2)
- Maximum 50 words
- Acknowledge they're probably not interested anymore
- Give them a graceful exit ("I'll close the loop")
- Make replying easy (one yes/no question)
## When to give up
After Touch 3 with no reply, move to nurture (quarterly check-ins). Don't continue the cadence.
## Strict prohibitions
These phrases kill response rates. Never use:
- "Just checking in"
- "Bumping this up"
- "Wanted to make sure this didn't get lost"
- "Friendly reminder"
- "Still interested?"
## Constraints
- Each touch must add new information or value — NOT just a reminder
- Spacing must respect "time-decay law": each subsequent touch waits longer
- All 3 touches together should be readable in 90 seconds
- The breakup email is mandatory if no reply — without it, the prospect either replies later or you just rot deals in pipeline forever
