Overview

Granola is the bot-less Mac AI note-taker that became a cult favorite among founders, investors, and product people in 2024–2025. Instead of joining your meeting as a bot — which is awkward, sometimes blocked, and increasingly socially unwelcome — Granola listens via your Mac's microphone and combines whatever you typed during the call with an AI-generated summary. The hybrid notes approach is the differentiator. You jot fragments live ("J wants to revisit pricing — circle back Friday") and Granola fills in around them, producing notes that look like yours but with the structure and completeness AI gives you. No external participant ever sees a bot or knows AI is involved. The flip side: it's Mac-only, single-user-first, and not built for enterprise compliance or CRM workflows. If you're a sales org, this isn't your tool. If you're a founder taking 8 calls a day on a MacBook, it's the best $14/month you'll spend.
