Fact-check a claim and rate confidence

You read or heard a claim. Before sharing or acting on it, you want to know what's actually true.

Works best in: Claude

Fact-check this claim. Don't just confirm or deny — rate your confidence and explain.

The claim:
{{paste the claim — quote, statistic, "I read that..."}}

Where I encountered it:
{{tweet, article, conversation, etc.}}

Output:
1. **What's actually true** — the version of the claim that holds up to scrutiny
2. **What's exaggerated or wrong** — specifically what's off
3. **Confidence level** — high / moderate / low, and why
4. **Primary sources** — where could I verify this myself? (peer-reviewed papers, government data, primary documents — not Wikipedia)
5. **The version of this claim worth sharing** — if any. Sometimes the answer is "this isn't worth repeating."

Be honest about uncertainty. If you don't know, say so. Don't manufacture confidence.
