Literature review starter for a topic

Help me start a literature review on {{topic}}. I want a map of the field, not a textbook chapter.

2. **The major schools of thought** — what's the disagreement? What does each side believe?

4. **The boring consensus** — what's everyone agreed on, that I should NOT spend time re-litigating?
5. **The dead ends** — what threads of research have lost favor and why?
6. **The reading order** — given limited time, which 3 should I read first?

Be honest if this isn't a field you have depth in. Don't invent citations.
